Wheels turn for big career
Hamilton Hill cyclist Taylah Christie says she is primed for the Track National Championships in Adelaide starting tomorrow.
WEST Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) cycling talent Tahlay Christie has been hitting the track at the Midvale velodrome twice a week for seven years.
This will come in handy when the Hamilton Hill teenager competes in the Track National Championships in Adelaide starting tomorrow.
Christie (17) is part of a squad which regularly laps the velodrome at Midvale.
She works out at the WAIS gym in Mt Claremont under coach Clayton Worthington.
Ahead of Adelaide, Christie said her fitness was good and her confidence high.
After completing Year 12 last year she said she was excited to focus on cycling.
“I feel more committed now that I can prepare without the pressure of study,” she said.
