Rain can’t deny Freo
FREMANTLE has continued its charge to the finals by defeating University in Round 12 of Premier Cricket.
Rain halted any chance of an outright win with no play taking place at Stevens Reserve.
Fortunately for Fremantle the damage had been inflicted a week earlier with the hosts claiming a first innings win and vital points.
Jake Carder scored 42 runs to help the hosts post 141 against a disciplined University outfit on day one.
The total proved enough with Michael Hogan and Jamie Heath taking four wickets each to rout University for just 93 runs.
At one stage the visitors were 5-16 and from there they could not recover.
Fremantle is now sixth with three rounds remaining.
