Colour­ful wel­come to uni life

FRE­MAN­TLE’S West End was buzzing with colour and ac­tiv­ity dur­ing the Univer­sity of Notre Dame’s record-break­ing O Day.

The an­nual cel­e­bra­tion is held at the univer­sity to wel­come new stu­dents, with the pop­u­lar O-Day Pa­rade at­tract­ing a record par­tic­i­pa­tion of 1000 peo­ple.

There were also a fi­esta, so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties, live mu­sic and work­shops.

City of Fre­man­tle Mayor Brad Pet­titt of­fi­cially wel­comed the stu­dents to Fre­man­tle.

“Fre­man­tle is fa­mous for its colour­ful pa­rades, with the O-Day pa­rade giv­ing stu­dents a taste of the lo­cal cul­ture they will en­joy through­out their years of study here in Freo,” he said.
