Streets to be rejuvenated

Cockburn Gazette - - OPINION -

A 300m strip of Spearwood Avenue could be in line for sprucing up.

Early ideas being looked into by City of Cockburn include new screening and flora between Rockingham Road and Adela Place.

In 2007, the whole length of Spearwood Avenue was dedicated as “Friendship Way” and divided into six sections reflecting links to Cockburn’s sister cities, peace, Australia and Nyungar people.

The section under consider- ation is “Peace”, with Deputy Mayor Carol Reeve-Fowkes pushing for council to get the ball rolling.

“The intent is to give the area a facelift and provide more visually attractive screening,” she said.
