Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS -

FIVE local community organisations and sports clubs will share in more than $34,000 of federal funding to go towards much needed equipment.

The East Fremantle Lawn Tennis Club, East Fremantle Lacrosse and Cricket Clubs, Fremantle Hockey Club, White Gum Valley Community Orchard and Native ARC will all receive between $5000 and $18,179 for upgrades and new equipment.

Fremantle MHR Melissa Parke said it would be great to see the money put to good use in the area, with the potential for more to benefit.

“I certainly hope that the four further round one applications, which were recommended for approval by my community consultation panel last October, also see their funding granted in the near future,” she said.

She said local organisations such as the Fremantle Community Mens Shed were already putting in applications for Round 2, which closed at the end of the month. Visit www.investment.infrastructure.gov.au.
