A man was sleeping in his vehicle near the East Street Jetty about 2.30pm on Sunday January 17 when he woke to find a man standing next to the driver’s door holding a knife. The man demanded money from the victim before running away towards Beach Street. Police have released a CCTV image of a man (above) they want to speak to. He is described as dark skinned, 175-178cm tall with a thin build, wearing a white shirt, dark shorts and a black, redrimmed baseball cap pulled low over his face. Fremantle police want to identify a woman (right) whom they believe can help them with investigations into an incident. Between 6.45pm and 7pm on Sunday March 13, an ANZ bank card was stolen from a parked car in North Fremantle. Police allege the woman used the stolen card at Coles Express Bicton at 7.08pm the same day. Crash investigators are looking for information on a serious hit and run on Wednesday March 16. At 5pm, a man in his 60s was driving a Vmoto scooter travelling east on Angus Avenue when it collided with a silver SUV/wagon travelling south on Denham Street. The driver of the car failed to stop. The scooter driver received serious injuries and was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers.
A 21-year-old Spearwood man was arrested over a number of incidents across the South Metropolitan area on March 16. At 2.45pm police were called to a shop on Rockingham Beach Road, Rockingham, where a safe had been stolen. Staff provided details of the vehicle the offender left in. At 4.25pm, police saw the vehicle on Parrot Way, Spearwood, and attempted to stop it. The driver was arrested after a long chase through a number of suburbs.
