Jets fly­ing high

THE Jandakot Jets Ju­nior Cricket team capped off a stel­lar year with a Com­mu­nity Ju­nior Cricket Coun­cil award re­cently.

TWO lo­cal ju­nior cricket clubs were recog­nised for a stel­lar year at the Com­mu­nity Ju­nior Cricket Coun­cil awards night re­cently.

Hil­ton Park Ju­nior Cricket Club won the Spirit of Cricket award and coach Daniel Hansen was con­ferred a re­gional Coach of the Year award.

Jandakot Jets Ju­nior Cricket Club’s Kyle Woos­nam was named the Milo in­2Cricket Co-or­di­na­tor of the Year.

It capped off an out­stand­ing year for the two clubs, with Jandakot tak- ing home pre­mier­ships in the U17 and U14 divi­sion, while Hil­ton Park nar­rowly lost the U15 grand fi­nal.

Hil­ton Park JCC regis­trar Liz Houl­ton said the club was very happy to be recog­nised. “In re­build­ing this club we have col­lec­tively com­mit­ted to a fam­ily friendly com­mu­nity minded ethos and the CJCC Spirit of Cricket Award lets us know that we are on the right track,” she said.

“It re­flects the amaz­ing spirit of our vol­un­teers, play­ers and their fam­i­lies.”

The Hil­ton Park Ju­nior Cricket Club won two awards.
