Bowled over by fundraiser

Cockburn Gazette - - OPINION -

THE Fremantle Bowling Club was awash in a sea of green when the St Patrick’s Community Support Centre celebrated the feast day of their namesake with a fundraiser.

Go Green on the Green invited locals and Fremantle personalities to join in an afternoon of bowling, Irish music and Australian food catered by Bindi Bindi Dreaming on St Patrick’s Day.

St Patrick’s chief executive Steve McDermott said almost $3000 was raised on the day, with the money to go towards a new venture.

“St Pat’s is about to open a brand new dental clinic to provide services to people who cannot otherwise afford dental care,” he said.

“Dental problems can lead to serious health consequences so this sort of preventative care helps clients as well as public healthcare costs.”
