Sharks re­turn strong af­ter bye

EAST Fre­man­tle re­turned from the bye in great form, notch­ing up a 50-point win over West Perth in round four WAFL ac­tion at East Fre­man­tle Oval.

The Sharks were out of the blocks early and de­spite be­ing outscored in the sec­ond term were too strong in the sec­ond half, run­ning out 14.17 (101) to 7.9 (51) win­ners.

Brett Peake kicked three goals to be his side’s big­gest goal-scorer.

Liam An­thony gath­ered 34 dis­pos­als and put the ball inside 50 five times.

West Perth had seven in­di­vid­ual goal kick­ers.

Aaron Black tal­lied 28 dis­pos­als.

The Sharks play Clare­mont at Shark Park on Satur­day.

The Falcons will battle East Perth at Leed­erville Oval.

In­jury-plagued util­ity An­thony Mora­bito made a suc­cess­ful re­turn in Peel Thun­der’s 30-point loss to East Perth at Rush­ton Park.

Mora­bito recorded 23 dis­pos­als, six marks, two tack­les and four inside-50s.

His ef­forts were not enough to get the Thun­der over the line, with the Roy­als putting through six fi­nal-quar­ter goals en route to a 15.14 (104) to 11.8 (74) win.

Al­bert Dean gath­ered 21 dis­pos­als and booted two goals to help Swan Dis­tricts notch its first points of the sea­son on Sun­day, a six-point win over Clare­mont.

The Swans held on 13.5 (83) to 10.17 (77).

Hamish Shep­heard booted five goals against an in­ac­cu­rate Perth to help Su­bi­aco re­main un­beaten af­ter four rounds. The Lions moved to 4-0 af­ter ac­count­ing for the Demons 14.9 (93) to 4.19 (43).
