WHAT THEY SAID

Cockburn Gazette - - OPINION -

“The NDIS will greatly enhance the support people with disability need to participate fully in community and economic life. “It’s pleasing that the Commonwealth and State governments are working collaboratively to achieve this outcome through a joint commitment to the NDIS in WA. “It is crucial that both governments tap into the strong expertise of the local disability sector to build a strong WA NDIS. ’’

“Like any trial there have been a few teething problems but on the whole I feel the trial has operated well. “There is no doubt in my mind that the creation of a National Disability Insurance Scheme is the right way forward. “People with disability tell me they want to see the trials run their course and that a proper evaluation of both takes place at the conclusion of the trials.

“The residents of Cockburn I have spoken to who have children or relatives who are part of the NDIS trial are very pleased with its roll out so far. “There have been teething problems with the roll out of trial, but overall the response has been positive.”
