Fun is order of the Day for WA

Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS -

THERE will be a party in Fremantle this WA Day.

The WA Day Festival at the Esplanade Reserve will celebrate all that is great about the state, with fairies, a climbing wall, basketball, soccer, mini tennis, sumo suits, African drumming circles and a book launch set to give people of all different tastes something fun to enjoy.

Celebrate WA chair Michael Anghie said it would be a great day for everyone.

“The exciting new WA Day Festival is a celebration of Western Australia: our relaxed lifestyle, beautiful landscape, local products, local pride, local music and most importantly, our people,” he said.

Freedom Fairy Cherish Armstrong, who will be roaming the Esplanade on the day, said they were “so excited” to be involved.

“We love being able to create awesome experiences for the WA community, especially in our local area,” she said.

“The Esplanade is such a beautiful setting for such a wonderful event.

“It’s a great way of being able to encourage people to spend the day enjoying Fremantle and celebrating the local community.”

The WA Day Festival is on June 6 from 10am to 4pm.
