COCK­BURN ex­tended its win­ning run to eight fol­low­ing an en­ter­tain­ing clash with the Rock­ing­ham Flames at Wally Ha­gan Sta­dium on Saturday night.

Mar­cus Goode scored a sea­son-high 40 points in the 130-122 win, adding 21 re­bounds, three as­sists and two steals to an all­round per­for­mance.

The US im­port had plenty of sup­port, with Ju­lian Pe­sava scor­ing 27, Rhett Della Maddalena 25, and Daniel Thomas 22.

For the vis­i­tors, Cooper Land scored 30 points at 64 per cent.

Tay­lor Land net­ted 25 points and Ryan God­frey scored 20.

The Cougars sit equal top of the ta­ble with the Joon­dalup Wolves.

Across town Lake­side slumped to its 13th straight loss. The Light­ning was beaten 99-87, de­spite 25 points from TJ Hal­lice and 23 from Daniel Alexan­der.

In the women’s di­vi­sion, Cock­burn lost its third straight match af­ter go­ing down to Rock­ing­ham 89-68.

Can­dace Wil­liams scored 29 points but ul­ti­mately it was not enough.

Lake­side had a bye.
