The Heights buyers defy market trend

Cockburn Gazette - - RESIDENTIAL -

Kardinya estate gets huge response from first-home buyers, investors and downsizers. A NEW

house and land development in a Perth southern suburb is defying the tough property market to prove a popular buyers’ option.

The launch of The Heights in Kardinya attracted more than 200 people, resulting in many sales and the early release of stage 1B.

Selling agent Glen O’Connor-Smith said the interest came from a variety of buyers, including downsizers, young families and first-home buyers.

“There is very little new development in the area and The Heights offers a great chance to purchase or invest in a brand new home in a leafy area that is well established with all the amenities you could need and lovely parks nearby,” he said.

“As a result, we have seen one of the strongest launches of a new house and land development we have experienced in some time.”

The private estate by leading WA property group Pindan features house-and-land packages with single and double-storey, three and fourbedroom, two-bathroom options.

Empty-nesters Heather and Steve Rawlings, who bought one of the stage one homes, are relocating to a smaller, low-maintenance lot.

“We have been looking to downsize for a couple of years but were not happy with the estates on the market as they mainly cater to young families, when this release came out in Kardinya,” Mrs Rawlings said.

“We chose a lot suited to the house plan we like, a beautiful fourbedroom, two-bathroom, doublestorey design, and we should have nice views once the estate is finished.”

On an elevated site in Buckingham Crescent, The Heights overlooks Alan Edwards Reserve and is near North Lake Road and South Street, the freeway and Murdoch train station close.

Mr O’Connor- Smith said the development was well connected to education, leisure, retail and world-class medical facilities.

“Kardinya is a popular, well-established suburb and The Heights is located just 250m from the Kardinya Park Shopping Centre and a 10minute drive to Garden City, Murdoch Uni, St John of God and Fiona Stanley Hospitals, Challenge Institute of Technology and, of course, Fremantle,” he said.

“The area is also set to benefit from the expanding infrastructure investment that is being made in the Murdoch precinct, a future hub of education and technology.”

The Heights house-and-land packages start from $530,000 and include high quality fittings and fixtures, with buyers able to choose from a range of internal colour schemes and additional upgrades.

It also features about 1000sq m of landscaped open space that will include a covered barbecue area, playground equipment and outdoor exercise equipment.
