Perry Lakes ends Cock­burn’s run

PERRY LAKES ended Cock­burn’s 10-game win­ning streak with a 103-91 vic­tory at Wally Ha­gan Sta­dium on Fri­day night.

Bryton Hobbs led the Hawks for points with 28.

Na­jee Lane scored 27 points and made six as­sists in the loss.

The Cougars atoned on Satur­day with a 113-95 win over the Gold­fields Gi­ants at Wally Ha­gan Sta­dium. Mar­cus Goode was back to his best with 37 points, with Lane im­pres­sive again with 26.

The Cougars main­tained top spot with the win, although Joon­dalup does have a game in hand.

Lake­side was too strong for the South West Slam­mers at the Lake­side Recre­ation Cen­tre on Fri­day night.

The hosts won 96-87, with skip­per Daniel Alexan­der scor­ing 38 points. It was Lake­side’s third straight win, although it re­mains three games out­side a fi­nals berth.

In the women’s divi­sion Lake­side pum­melled the Slam­mers.

Ali Sch­wag­meyer, as she has been all sea­son, was on fire scor­ing 33 points at close to 70 per cent from the field.

She had sup­port on the scor­ing front from Ash­leigh Grant (16 points) and De­vanny King (14) as the hosts pow­ered home 103 to 82.

Lake­side moved to fifth af­ter its third straight win.

Cock­burn is out­side the top eight af­ter a sec­ond straight loss.

Can­dace Wil­liams scored 20 points but the Cougars were no match for the Hawks who won 69 to 55.

Deanna Smith scored 18 points for the Hawks.
