City studies dog areas

Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS -

POTENTIAL new offlead dog exercise areas are being investigated by the City of Cockburn.

Residents can provide feedback on Hobbs Park in Hamilton Hill, Princeton Park in Aubin Grove, Milgun Reserve in Yangebup, Berrigan Lake Reserve in South Lake and Costa Park in Beeliar before October 21.

“We have a high population of dogs in our City and have identified that some suburbs don’t have enough public places set aside to exercise them” Mayor Logan Howlett said.

The City recently resolved to build a new fenced dog park at Jan Hammond Reserve in Hammond Park next year.

It will also consider including a fenced dog exercise area in the Manning Park Master Plan in 2016-17.
