Big impact predicted
A FORMER mentor has flagged Fremantle signing Cam McCarthy as having the potential to make a big impact next season.
Ryan Henley, director of sport with Emmanuel Catholic College, taught McCarthy when he was a pupil at the school prior to heading to Sydney to chase his AFL dream.
He said McCarthy, who had volunteered at in the PE department at the school after deciding against returning to his AFL club, could be what Fremantle were looking for up forward.
“I am sure all of the Fremantle Dockers supporters are excited about Cam and I have no doubt that he will make a big impact in the AFL next year,” he said.
“He has an excellent work ethic that was displayed during his time here at Emmanuel.
“I think he will be an excellent forward target and he will also continue the forward pressure that he displayed during his time at the Giants.”
Emmanuel runs an Australian Football Academy and has forged partnerships with the Fremantle Dockers and the South Fremantle Football Club.
