Miller top choice for draft
HAYLEY Miller has made history after becoming the Fremantle Dockers’ first selection in the inaugural AFL Women’s draft.
The 20-year-old Curtin University student, a defender with the Coastal Titans, will play for the Dockers in next year’s competition after she was selected at pick four in Wednesday’s draft.
Miller played under Fremantle coach Michelle Cowan in an exhibition match recently and said she was excited to be given an opportunity to learn more from her at the Dockers.
“As a coach she understands her players and knows how to get the best out of everyone,” she said.
“Every experience I’ve had in being coached by her has been a positive one.
“I get to stay where my friends and my family are and do something I love and play football. I’m really stoked to stay in Perth.”
