OPEN for seven years, Oven Crisp Bak­ery is a hid­den gem, sell­ing a range of award wor­thy pas­tries and pies.

Re­cently crowned win­ner of the Of­fi­cial Great Aussie Pie Com­pe­ti­tion, owner Tommy Nguyen uses a com­bi­na­tion of mince and chunky steak in his beef pie, which has been re­fined over the years us­ing the feed­back from com­pe­ti­tion judges and also cus­tomers.

With beef pies fly­ing off the shelves, Mr Nguyen plans to turn his at­ten­tion to other pas­try-clad cre­ations.

“We re­cently won best sausage roll at the Perth Royal Show,” he said.
