STAFF at take­away out­lets at Lakes shop­ping centre were threat­ened with a screw­driver dur­ing an in­ci­dent on Oc­to­ber 2. Po­lice said a man en­tered one busi­ness about 8.40pm. “Staff re­fused to hand over any money at which time the man raised a screw­driver in his left hand and a torch in his right hand and was wav­ing them at the staff, con­tin­u­ing to demand money,” a po­lice spokesman said. “A staff mem­ber picked up the phone as if to ring po­lice and the man ran out of the store and turned left to head be­hind the shop­ping centre.” The man then stole a bag con­tain­ing cash from a de­liv­ery driver at a nearby take­away store be­fore run­ning off to­wards the rail­way line. The man is about 180cm tall with a medium build. He was wear­ing a black hooded jumper, a black scarf to cover his face, grey track pants with the word Cal­i­for­nia down the right leg and blue shoes.
