STAFF at takeaway outlets at Lakes shopping centre were threatened with a screwdriver during an incident on October 2. Police said a man entered one business about 8.40pm. “Staff refused to hand over any money at which time the man raised a screwdriver in his left hand and a torch in his right hand and was waving them at the staff, continuing to demand money,” a police spokesman said. “A staff member picked up the phone as if to ring police and the man ran out of the store and turned left to head behind the shopping centre.” The man then stole a bag containing cash from a delivery driver at a nearby takeaway store before running off towards the railway line. The man is about 180cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, a black scarf to cover his face, grey track pants with the word California down the right leg and blue shoes.
