Charity ride raises $4m
MORE than $4 million was raised for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research during October’s Ride to Conquer Cancer.
More than 900 riders helped raise the funds, which will be used to support cancer research.
Local team the Coogee Cycling Crew helped raise $30,600.
Harry Perkins Institute director Peter Leedman said he was delighted with the support.
“Thanks to the funds raised through the ride, our internationally renowned research teams, doctors and clinicians are delivering the latest breakthroughs and advancing health benefits, which result in improved health of the community,” he said.
The annual ride has raised more than $23.5 million in the past five years.
