Cockburn Gazette - - STREET WATCH -

A LOCAL shopping centre has scooped two gongs at the recent WA Property Awards.

Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre picked up an Excellence in Marketing award for its Summer at the Piazza promotion.

The campaign, which ran from January to March, delivered 36 free events including fitness classes, live shows, outdoor movies and an event headlined by Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, one of just 13 certified Lego professionals in the world.

Gateway also took home the Excellence in Management award in the Big Guns class.

Centre manager Kate Grieve was thrilled with the wins. “To win these state titles is a huge accomplishment for us, particularly given the high calibre of the competition,” she said.

“Both of these awards are a huge testament to the dedicated team we have at Cockburn Gateway Shopping City and also our customers, whose feedback we have taken on board continuously and taken it from strength to strength.”

Lakeside Joondalup claimed the Retail Marketing Campaign of the Year award, and was named Shopping Centre of the Year.
