AMER­I­CAN singer-song­writer Julien Baker is com­ing to Aus­tralia for the first time and she has ear­marked Fre­man­tle as one of her must-per­form lo­ca­tions.

The 20-year-old Ten­nessee-based mu­si­cian will end the year with a na­tional tour to cel­e­brate the re­lease of her de­but record Sprained An­kle, and will in­clude a per­for­mance at the Fre­man­tle Arts Cen­tre next month.

Baker’s mu­sic is de­scribed as per­sonal and heart­felt, her lyrics eas­ily re­lat­able to any­one with a nig­gling in­se­cu­rity. Emma Rus­sack will sup­port her on stage. Baker will per­form an over-18 show at the Fre­man­tle Arts Cen­tre’s In­ner Court­yard on De­cem­ber 1 from 7pm.
