MORE than 100 children are getting a taste of basketball at one of the best Aussie Hoops centres in the country.

The basketball program at Hamilton Hill’s Wally Hagan Stadium, which has 109 children aged five to 10 currently enrolled in its Term 4 course, has won the Aussie Hoops centre of the month for its dedication to the program.

Cockburn Basketball Association operations manager Graeme Pratt said the Aussie Hoops program had already successfully transitioned more than 30 boys and girls into its weekly junior competitions and expected many more would follow suit.

“Both girls and boys enjoy the program because they are participating in physical activity and making new friendships,” he said.

“Kids learn the skills of basketball through fun games and all coaches are accredited and provide a safe environment.

“It is great recognition for the hard work and dedication of our junior development coaches.”
