WASPS sting Fre­man­tle

THE WASPS proved too strong for the Fre­man­tle Hockey Club’s Pre­mier men in what was a high-scor­ing game at the Perth Hockey Sta­dium on Fri­day night.

Five goals were scored in the first half, with the WASPS go­ing into the break 3-2 up.

They never looked like giv­ing up their lead in the sec­ond, ce­ment­ing the win with an­other two goals to take out the game 5-3.

Fre­man­tle’s Mark El­lis scored twice, while Veeran Mo­rar also found the back of the net.

Fre­man­tle will look to get back on the win­ners list with two games this week, tak­ing on YMCC from 7pm, April 6 at Lem­nos Field and Vic Park from 3.30pm on April 8 at the Perth Hockey Sta­dium.

The club’s pre­mier women will run out for their first game of the sea­son, play­ing Vic Park from 2pm on April 8 at the Perth Hockey Sta­dium.
