DANCER KEPT ON HER TOES

PORT Kennedy dancer Kelly Devlin left for New York on April 4 to com­pete in the Youth Amer­i­can Grand Prix.

The 15-year-old was thrilled to be ac­cepted into the pres­ti­gious bal­let com­pe­ti­tion and said it was an amaz­ing op­por­tu­nity.

“I started bal­let train­ing at age five at The Dance Edge Co,” Kelly said.

“Last year I de­cided to fo­cus solemnly on my clas­si­cal bal­let and be­gan train­ing full time at KMPAA.

“Af­ter many years of hard work, I have been lucky enough to have re­ceived so many amaz­ing of­fers.”

Kelly has been ac­cepted into many pres­ti­gious bal­let sum­mer schools and has had in­vi­ta­tions to fi­nal au­di­tions of Euro­pean bal­let schools.

“I plan to con­tinue my bal­let train­ing at a rep­utable in­ter­na­tional bal­let school com­menc­ing in Septem­ber this year,” she said.

Kelly said she loved the hard work, de­ter­mi­na­tion and long hours of train­ing that bal­let re­quires.

“I love push­ing my lim­its,” she said.

Kelly Devlin is thrilled to be com­pet­ing in the Youth Amer­i­can Grand Prix in New York.
