Courages wins safety award
CITY of Cockburn’s Three Courages safety philosophy has won it a 2017 Work Safety award.
Taking out ‘Best initiative to encourage worker engagement in safety and health’, the City’s courages are the courage to report, the courage to intervene and the courage to stop work.
The safety philosophy, developed by the City’s Human Resources team, received unanimous support from managers and directors.
Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) acting deputy director general safety Simon Ridge said awards such as the 2017 Work Safety Awards are all about encouraging best practice in safety and health.
