Courages wins safety award

CITY of Cock­burn’s Three Courages safety phi­los­o­phy has won it a 2017 Work Safety award.

Tak­ing out ‘Best ini­tia­tive to en­cour­age worker en­gage­ment in safety and health’, the City’s courages are the courage to report, the courage to in­ter­vene and the courage to stop work.

The safety phi­los­o­phy, de­vel­oped by the City’s Hu­man Re­sources team, re­ceived unan­i­mous sup­port from man­agers and di­rec­tors.

Depart­ment of Mines, In­dus­try, Reg­u­la­tion and Safety (DMIRS) act­ing deputy di­rec­tor gen­eral safety Si­mon Ridge said awards such as the 2017 Work Safety Awards are all about en­cour­ag­ing best prac­tice in safety and health.
