Cockburn Gazette - - RESIDENTIAL -

THEY say a man's home is his castle and Chateaux la Quilla certainly has a majestic presence.

The unique residence was a labour of love for the original owners, who travelled the world to find special pieces for the home, such as the hand-made Moroccan tiles in the master bedroom's ensuite. It was love at first sight for the current owners. “We were looking to move from a small, old home in a good location on the river and saw this beautiful and amazing home on the internet,” they said.

“We realised it had great proximity to all the things we loved, such as the ocean and river, and what we needed, such as easy walking distance to public transport, both buses and trains, for the kids.

“When we inspected the home there was no going back.”

The house has stone and timber features and wonderful bespoke finishes, including solid timber doors, dome and coffered ceilings, arched windows with timber shutters, and wrought iron detailing.

It is as functional as it is beautiful and has been a wonderful home for the family.

The layout includes multiple living areas, a theatre room, octagonal study and an enormous kitchen.

A vine-draped alfresco area with nearby barbecue kitchen is a wonderful place to entertain and the turret and deck area offer other opportunities to wow family and friends or simply enjoy some quiet time. The owners said it had an outstanding view. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The home is for sale by open negotiations, with final bidding taking place on November 2.
