THE Clouds have had a resurgence back into the Australian music scene after supporting the likes of Blondie and Cyndi Lauper.
The Australian indie rock band first burst on to the music scene in 1990 and seven years of success followed before they decided to call time.
They reformed in 2011 and started this year with a bang with the release of a new single, Mabel’s Bookshop.
After a national tour as a support band earlier this year, The Clouds are ready to headline their own tour of Australia in celebration of their new single Beautiful Nothingness.
Drummer and White Gum Valley resident Raphael Whittingham said the new single was truly a cross-country project to compile.
“Beautiful Nothingness was recorded in three different states,” he said.
“The drums here in White Gum Valley, some guitars in Melbourne and the rest near Wollongong, south of Sydney.
“We are all feeling quite energised and looking forward to playing together and also alongside our old friends (support band) Falling Joys.
“I’m looking forward to having Perth family and friends come along as well as playing in my hood and Jodi (Phillis – vocals/guitar) and Trish (Young – vocals/bass) have always loved Freo and the South Freo strip.”
The Clouds will perform at Metropolis Fremantle on November 10.
