FREMANTLE Districts has kicked off its opening two-day match with a strong performance in the field.

Playing away to Perth, Fremantle won the toss and sent its opponents into bat.

Perth struggled as batsmen got starts but eventually fell as Fremantle showed its dominance both with ball in hand and catching in the field.

No Perth batsmen made it to the half century milestone as the team finished on 208.

Jarryd McPhee picked up his third three-wicket haul in four games. Josh Chojnowski also took three wickets.

The game continues with Fremantle batting on Saturday.

Fremantle also got its first T20 win of the season after downing Scarborough on Sunday.

Batting first, Scarborough’s top order started strongly as the team fought their way to 3-133 but a middle and lower order capitulation had them finish their 20 overs on 9-150. A big 77-run knock from Chris Davenport helped Fremantle chase the total down with one ball to go.

Fremantle lost its first T20 game to Rockingham-Mandurah and will take on Perth in game three on November 19.
