PERTH’S fash­ion set turned out to en­joy the un­veil­ing of this sum­mer’s Fash­ion Coun­cil WA’s Swim and Re­sort Se­ries at The Shore­house last week.

The launch re­vealed a line-up of events that will take place over Perth on Novem­ber 25 and 26. They will cel­e­brate WA’s beach­side and river­side lifestyle at venues in­clud­ing Point Fraser Board­walk and City Beach Surf Life Sav­ing Club.

There will also be a free event at Clare­mont Quar­ter on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 23.

MC for the launch, Nine News Perth pre­sen­ter Emmy Kubainksi, said the event was a great way to kick off the Swim and Re­sort Se­ries.

Fash­ion Coun­cil WA chair­woman Kate O’Hara, who stepped in for di­rec­tor Mariella Har­vey-Han­ra­han, said the event was a great way to pro­mote WA and the fash­ion in­dus­try to lo­cal, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional vis­i­tors.

De­sign­ers to be fea­tured on the runway in­clude Man­ning Cartell,

which will un­veil its lat­est col­lec­tion on day one. Re­turn­ing to WA for day two is kaf­tan queen Camilla.

The de­signer, whose pieces have been worn by celebri­ties in­clud­ing Oprah, will be show­cased af­ter the WA De­signer Runway event. This will fea­ture eight lo­cal de­sign­ers in­clud­ing Mor­ri­son, Amore and Sorvete.

Tourism Min­is­ter Paul Pa­palia said the event pro­vided a great back­drop to show off Perth’s nat­u­ral at­trac­tions, such as its beaches and the Swan River.

Har­vey-Han­ra­han is in Bei­jing for China Fash­ion Week sup­port­ing Ael’kemi and 33 Po­ets.
