RETIREES WITH PLENTY OF TIME

Cockburn Gazette - - OPINION -

OUR riverside mansion dwelling retirees seem to have plenty of time to sit around making up facts that suit them.

Whether a particular plant blocking their view is a native or a weed, or what time accidents involving cyclists occur seem to occupy their time.

In response to Frank Granger, who claimed that cyclists should not be allowed on the road in the dark, perhaps if he cared to look at the facts he would discover that 80 per cent of accidents involving bikes occur during daylight hours.

I feel much safer cycling on the road than a shared path with our young and old, dogs, and families with prams despite the impatience of people like Frank. SHANNON HUGH, Bicton
