En­joy Christ­mas spirit at Gate­way

COCK­BURN res­i­dents are in­vited to get into the spirit of Christ­mas at Cock­burn Gate­way Shop­ping Cen­tre from De­cem­ber 2.

The cen­tre’s fes­tiv­i­ties will in­clude a dance troupe, mu­si­cians and char­ac­ters will pa­rade through the shop­ping cen­tre await­ing the ar­rival of Santa.

For the first time it will also in­tro­duce a “Sen­si­tive Santa” who will visit the cen­tre for a se­ries of spe­cial Santa ses­sions in a calm en­vi­ron­ment for chil­dren with spe­cial needs to have a photo with Santa out­side of nor­mal trad­ing hours from 9am to 11am on Sun­day De­cem­ber 3, 10 and 17.

Cock­burn Gate­way Shop­ping City Cen­tre Man­ager Ian McCosker said it was set to be a spe­cial De­cem­ber full of fes­tive fun.

“Christ­mas is our favourite time of the year and we have gone out of our way to en­sure that shop­pers feel wel­come and ac­com­mo­dated this Christ­mas sea­son,” he said.

“We are es­pe­cially look­ing for­ward to our new sen­si­tive Santa ses­sions.

“Staff from the Autism As­so­ci­a­tion’s First Steps Pro­gram will be there to sup­port you and your child for a me­morable and pos­i­tive ex­pe­ri­ence.

“Our menu of fam­ily-friendly events such as Santa’s ar­rival on Satur­day, com­bined with the fact we of­fer over 150 spe­cialty stores, makes Cock­burn Gate­way the ul­ti­mate shop­ping des­ti­na­tion to make sure you are decked out with fes­tive fun come Christ­mas Day.”

Cus­tomers will also be able to help char­i­ties Breast Cancer Care WA and the Sal­va­tion Army by hav­ing their gifts wrapped for a gold coin do­na­tion per gift.
