TIME is running out to give credit to an outstanding volunteer through this year’s WA Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Nominations close on Friday, March 9, and Volunteering WA chief executive Tina Williams urged people to take the opportunity to recognise a special person or organisation.

“These awards serve to highlight the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations that make WA a better place to live,” Ms Williams said.

“We look forward to showcasing these incredible volunteers and organisations who are doing amazing work in our communities.”

There are about 600,000 volunteers in WA, from corporate organisations delivering services to mums and dads who help out junior sport.

Winners of the eight awards will be announced during National Volunteers Week in May.
