LOVE is still in the air for Leem­ing cou­ple Harry and Trudie Goldsword, even after 65 years of mar­riage.

The cou­ple cel­e­brated the mile­stone on May 20 sur­rounded by friends and fam­ily.

Daugh­ter Alison Di­jk­stra said her par­ents moved to Perth from Hol­land in 1953.

“They’ll also cel­e­brate 65 years in Aus­tralia dur­ing Oc­to­ber and they have spent all of their time liv­ing in the City of Melville area,” she said.

“They lived in Mt Pleas­ant be­fore mov­ing to Leem­ing – it’s al­ways been a spe­cial area for them. My dad wanted to move to Aus­tralia when was 18 be­cause he was a builder and he didn’t want to work in the rain, but his dad made him wait un­til he was 22.”

Leem­ing cou­ple Trudie and Harry Goldsword cel­e­brate their 65th wed­ding an­niver­sary with fam­ily.
