FREMANTLE Districts Cricket Club remain undefeated in the two-day format after a comfortable win over Bayswater-Morley on Saturday.

Setting their opponents a target of 188 to win, Fremantle’s bowlers went on a rampage to close out day 1 to have Bayswater-Morley teetering at 5-69.

The visitors were able to rally on day 2 thanks to a half-century by Joshua Fontana, but Fremantle’s bowlers continued to take regular wickets throughout the day, keeping their opponents to 148 and securing the victory.

Josh Chojnowski did most of the damage with the ball, taking 7-58.

Fremantle sit sixth on the WA Premier Cricket competition ladder and will next take on Mt Lawley at Stevens Reserve on November 17 and 24.

East Fremantle easily surpassed the 103 set by Bicton Attadale, with 63 to Chris Siave and a matchhigh 80 from Nick Siave before he retired hurt, helping the team to a total of 185 and the win.

Hilton Palmyra set Cockburn a competitive total of 162 to win, but a strong showing from Cockburn’s middle order, led by a half-century from opener Sajith Kodituwakku (52), helped Cockburn take the points with a total of 181.

Paul Forrest was the pick of the bowlers for Hilton Palmyra, taking 633.

Phoenix were unable to defend a low total of 125 in their match against SJ Blues.
