Do you prefer an Uber or taxi?

Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS -

I would choose an Uber over a taxi because of its rating service. For me, I feel safer to know I’m about to be driven home by someone who has a four or five-star rating. Uber provides photo and name identification of the driver, as well as user reviews. Knowing that people have voted based on their car ride experience with the driver offers me a higher level of security than if I were to choose a taxi ride home.

While I love the convenience of Uber, the taxi industry fulfils a vital need for people with disabilities that Uber does not. Some people using wheelchairs or walking aids rely solely on taxis to get around. It’s rare to find an Uber that can accommodate their needs. Every maxi taxi can fit a wheelchair. Elderly people who can’t use a smartphone or don’t have one can’t access the Uber app, which means taxis are their sole means of getting around. Taxis provide a service to some of the community’s most vulnerable.
