VOLUNTEERS “making a world of difference” will be honoured during the 30th anniversary of National Volunteer Week.
From May 20-26, there will be events across the country to thank Australia’s six million volunteers and celebrate this year’s theme.
In WA, four out of five West Australians donate an average of 15.9 hours per month, according to Volunteering WA.
Research shows people who volunteer are happier and healthier, demonstrating increased feelings of self-worth, satisfaction and connectedness which leads to better health and wellbeing.
There are many motivators for volunteering, including enjoying a sense of purpose.
