Dancers bound for US with a little help from friends

Cockburn Gazette - - NEWS -

A GROUP of Bibra Lake dancers will be jetsetting to the US to perform at popular tourist destinations.

The Kerry Gough Gotta Dance school troupe aged seven to 14, who will be embarking on the 2020 trip to California, will get to perform in front of an international audience at Disneyland, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios.

On top of the performances, they will also march in the Disneyland parade, take part in dance workshops and enjoy some sightseeing.

To help them get there, the dance school is holding a fundraiser at Cockburn Ice Arena, 5pm to 7pm, on May 25.

Kerry Gough Gotta Dance principal teacher Natasha Hodgson said they had made the trip in 2016 and it had been such an experience they wanted to do it again.

“We went on the adventure of a lifetime with our first group of dancers to perform and enjoy the Disney experience and we just had to go again and give this amazing experience we had the first time to other families,” she said.

“Locals should attend because it will be a fun night for a great cause; they will be supporting local families and dancers to experience the trip of a lifetime.”
