We renew our commitment to local journalism
THE Cockburn Gazette is recommitting itself to bringing you the best in local news and information.
Community News Group – publisher of this newspaper and a host of others right across the greater Perth metropolitan area, plus our leading local news website communitynews.com.au – is introducing changes to better service our audiences with market-leading local journalism. These changes include some variation in publication days and from next week the Cockburn Gazette will be delivered on Thursdays.
Community News’ vision statement is to Strengthen Communities by Campaigning, Informing and Connecting, a statement our editorial team lives and breathes each day.
We have also committed ourselves to be First and Fairest.
We know it’s important for you to be up to date with local affairs and events, and we strive to publish news you need to know first to our website, communitynews.com.au.
And we pride ourselves on our independent journalism – fair, balanced and honest.
Unlike some smaller publishers known to push their own agendas, we will report without fear or favour, and we’ll let you draw your own opinion.
Official numbers show Perth audiences are appreciating our approach, consuming more of our content.
The latest audited readership data shows significant growth in the year to March 30 for our 12 mastheads and website.
The 12 titles and full network digital had 913,000 readers in March 2019, an increase of 91,000, or 11.1 per cent, from March 2018.
Communitynews.com.au goes from strength to strength as a source of local news. In May we recorded 1.699 million page views and in June we have grown our facebook audience over 100,000 followers.
Thank you for reading our content, and we look forward to sharing more local stories that matter to you.
