Sinclair leads where others follow

Cockburn Gazette - - SPORT -

COCKBURN City romped to a 4-0 win over Inglewood United to climb into the NPLWA’s top four.

Despite being without NPLWA top scorer Daniel Robinson through suspension, Cockburn got on to the scoreboard almost immediately when Hasani Sinclair headed home a goal after just five minutes.

The visitors were able to make it 2-0 before half-time after a piece of Devon Gibson magic had him leave two defenders in his wake before he kicked the 30th minute goal.

Cockburn picked up in the second half right where they had left off, when they needed just 11 minutes to again find the back of the net, this time off the head of Hayden Stevens, before putting the final nail in the coffin just before the final whistle when Ashley Rosindale scored against his old club.

It was the third consecutive game in which Cockburn had scored four goals.

Armadale was left disappointed after it went down 5-0 to Rockingham City. After 13 rounds Cockburn City are fourth on the ladder while Armadale are ninth.

Both Cockburn and Armadale will travel for round 14, Cockburn to take on ECU Joondalup while Armadale will face Perth Glory. Both games will kick off at 3pm on June 29.
