FRESH off consecutive top three finishes in the State Basketball League MVP race, Cockburn Cougars stalwart Gavin Field has resigned with the club for the next two years.

The Cougars life member, who finished third in voting for the league’s highest honour, has committed to the club until the end of the 2021 season.

Over the past two years, the beanpole affectionately nicknamed ‘Bob’ has averaged more than 24 points per game, eight rebounds, over 40 per cent from the three-point line and was runner-up in the 2018 MVP count.

Cockburn Basketball Association general manager Tyrone Thwaites said Field’s re-signing was symbolic of what the ‘Cougar Family’ stood for.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Gav’s service to our proud family, the example he sets,” he said.
