Two years ago, I picked up a copy of Collective Hub to read on board my flight home to Europe after yet another trip to Australia. I had fallen in love with the country a few years before, and came back over and over again. I wanted to move here badly but, running my own business overseas, I feared the challenges a new beginning in Australia would bring. Flicking through your pages, I read about a group of surfers from the Sunshine Coast [who were] on a quest to make the world a better place with their fashion label. It was right then that I realised I just had to finally jump. I landed in Europe, sold everything I owned and moved to Australia two months later. Best decision of my life – thanks for kicking my fears in the butt, Collective Hub! Alexandra Stelzl

I want to start by saying that I never buy magazines. In fact, the last time I bought a magazine was probably at least 10 years ago. But when I saw your mag up on the stand in Coles last night, it was such a breath of fresh air. In light of a pretty horrific week for minorities and womankind [in November 2016], it was a no-brainer for me to snap up a copy. Firstly, because I love the Collective Hub brand, and secondly (and oh-so importantly), because I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is. We need more diversity represented in the media – different faces, different voices, smart voices – and this is exactly what you’re doing. Maeva Heim

On a recent trip I picked up my first

Collective Hub. It was love at first sight. I shut out the world and read every word from beginning to end. I’m a stay-athome mum who has been stuck in a rut, not knowing how to release the creative juices I have floating around. Reading that issue and seeing all the awesome lettering pieces in the Artist Takeover really inspired me to get back into lettering and to start selling my prints and stationery. Thank you for inspiring me, for allowing me to realise I can fail at times but I sure as hell can get back up and try again. Kimberley Engwicht
