Economic strategy out
A NEW Economic Development Strategy (EDS) has been launched to help the City of Armadale boost the local economy over the next five years.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the EDS would build on its 2012 predecessor to aid and measure the growth of the local economy from now until 2022.
“The overarching framework of the strategy identified three key outcome areas, which include infrastructure and investment, promotion of Armadale, and support for businesses,” he said.
“Our economic development vision is to have a vibrant and sustainable economy that provides a diversity of jobs and investment opportunities.
“The City will roll out the majority of the actions, and support other agencies and partners to complete the various activities contained in the action plan.
“The challenge for the City now lies in implementing the plan and enhancing Armadale’s status as the Strategic Metropolitan Centre for the southeast region.”
