A HAT-TRICK from an in-form Chris Jackson helped Armadale to a 3-1 win over Joondalup United on a wet Saturday afternoon.

It took just eight minutes for Jackson to find the back of the net on the back of a big save from Joondalup keeper James Bosdet, who momentarily stopped the ball going past him before the Armadale striker nudged an easy tap-in.

A header in the 18th minute made it 2-0 before a defensive mistake in the 59th minute gifted Jackson number three.

Joondalup managed to pull one back in the 78th minute with a back-heel goal from Jamie Gibson.

Jackson now has 12 goals from 12 games and has only finished scoreless in two games.

Armadale coach John O’Reilly said the team could have done better, but he was pleased with the win.

“It’s a good result. I would have loved a more polished performance but I’ll take that result,” he said.

“It’s always going to be a scrappy game against Joondalup. They put up a fight right till the end.”

After 14 rounds, Armadale sits eighth on the ladder with five wins and four draws.

It next hosts 11th-placed Forrestfield United from 7pm on June 2 at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
