Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Monday, May 21. At 3.15pm, a man in his 20s was walking across Gwynne Park when two men approached him. One man pulled on his backpack and caused him to fall. While he was on the ground the men stole his mobile phone and ran off to Townley Street, heading towards Forrest Road. The offenders are described as being between 20 to 30 years old with dark skin and short spiky hair, wearing dark clothing. Police want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the men before or after the incident, including residents nearby with CCTV footage or drivers with dashcams.
At 10.20am on Sunday, April 29, a group of people entered a commercial property on Brookland Street and rummaged through a workshop and office. When alarms were activated the group left. The men were last seen wearing dark clothing, light-coloured gloves and their faces were masked.
At 1.15am on Tuesday, May 29, a 30-year-old man who police were looking for was found at a home in Canning Vale and arrested. It is alleged he was in possession of a shotgun and ammunition at the time of his arrest. The man was also charged over incidents in April and May in Gosnells, Mt Nasura, Kelmscott, Canning Vale and Ballajura. He was charged with 13 offences including two counts of aggravated armed robbery, threats to kill, discharge firearm to cause fear and deprivation of liberty.
Detectives are asking the public for help with investigations into an indecent assault on a train on Friday, May 18. Police said the female victim boarded the train at the Kelmscott station and sat next to a man who, during the journey to Oats Street station, allegedly indecently assaulted her. The victim got off the train at 10.55am and was approached by another woman who said she had seen the alleged assault. A 43-year-old Maddington man was arrested and charged with indecent assault.
Two men have been charged after an assault in Oakford on Sunday, February 11. Police allege the two men were in a vehicle driving past the property when one of the men entered by climbing over a gate. Police said the 71-year-old man and 64-year-old woman who lived at the home were then assaulted. On Tuesday, May 29, a 32-yearold man of no fixed address was arrested in relation to another alleged assault. He was also charged with grievous bodily harm and aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm relating to an incident in Oakford on Friday, June 1.
Search warrants were executed at properties in Seville Grove, Quairading, Kellerberrin, York, Wagin, West Busselton and Brunswick in May. Drugs including methylamphetamine, cannabis and a cannabis plant were allegedly found and seized. Eleven people have been charged with 60 drug-related offences.
