UNICEF BALL 2018 IDENTITY by Kevin Cantrell Studio http://kevin

Unicef USA commissioned boutique design firm Kevin Cantrell Studio to create a comprehensive identity system for the 2018 Unicef Ball. Inspired by the glamour of the venue location, the type-based identity takes inspiration from the Unicef olive leaf motif and art deco architecture.

“The goal was to elevate the Unicef Ball brand to properly convey the rich history of LA’s opulent deco architecture and culture,” recalls founder and creative director Kevin Cantrell, adding that art deco was a natural stylistic choice to convey the glamour and prestige of LA.

“Ultimately, the aim was to help promote the event to a ‘higher end’ audience to receive more donations in UNICEF’s worldwide efforts to help children first,” he continues. “The reaction is our favourite part of the project. Many of the patrons loved the identity so much they ended up framing it.”
