Briefed to design the visual identity and packaging for Dimoni, a vermouth from Mallorca, Barcelona-based Forma teamed up with illustrator Ata Lassalle to create a playful, “non-designed” aesthetic with a contemporary twist. “The main goal was to create a design that celebrated Sant Antoni’s Day, one of Mallorca’s most important festivities,” explains Forma’s Josep Duran. “The ‘Dimoni’ – Devil, in Catalan – plays an extremely important role during celebrations throughout the day.”

The fresh design’s primary serif is accompanied by an extended sans serif, while the red colour palette directly evokes the Balearic tradition. The most challenging part of the project? “Doing something that someone from Mallorca could feel proud of, while also appealing to audiences that potentially have no knowledge of Sant Antoni’s Day,” says Duran.
