by Almudena Laborda and Álvaro Navarrostamudenalabordavaron Ochre_ Illustrator Almudena Laborda and 3D designer Álvaro Navarro joined forces for this art project that combines work from two fields not usually associated with one another. “The purpose of Ochre was to experiment by mixing classic painting with digital 3D illustration,” says Navarro.

Laborda created the overall compositions, working on everything from the first drafts to the final paintings, before Navarro took her colours and shapes and worked on modelling and compositing the 3D images, applying paint textures to the final three-dimensional forms.

“This series focuses on a four-colour palette inspired by impressionism and minimalism where each colour dominates one illustration so the viewer will easily feel a connection between them. The result is a huge project where everything is connected by forms and colours.”
