After a brief setup, the Nura cans promise to ‘m ‘match’ themselves to your ears and make your music sound better. Their Kickstarte­r campaign has ended up a resounding success. BETTER THAN A HAPPY MEAL We thought we knew what to expect from a McDonald’s, but that was before the McTrax mat: a paper controller that hooks up to your phone and lets you trigger loops and record your voice. Sadly, it only appeared briefly in Amsterdam and is unlikely to be seen again. SPOTIFISE THIS DJ mixes look set to arrive on Spotify thanks to a new deal the company has signed with Dubset MediaM Holdings. Dubset’s MixBank technology will supposedly analyse the content of mixes and identify the copyright holders who are due royalties. UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP It felt like Sony Creative Software had been neglecting its Acid and Sound Forge titles for a while, so it came as no great surprise to learn that the company has offloaded them to Magix. Let’s hope that users will have more to cheer about in the future... MUST HAVE A MOOG... We thought we were perfectly happy with our Minimoog software emulations, but then Moog announced that they’re making a new version of the original hardware and we’re suddenly desperate to own one. The downside? It’ll cost $3500… BLOCKED STREAMS Music streaming is great for music consumers, but we don’t like the growing trend of artists offering new albums exclusivel­y on a single service. If customers need multiple subscripti­ons in order to get all the music they want, surely something’s gone wrong again.
