Computer Music - - News -

Some producers like to call up a preset in their favourite plugin and tweak a knob or two. And then there are the few brave boffins who use Csound, an audio programming language dating back to 1985. Developed at MIT, it allows deep diving into code-driven composition and sound design. There are some dedicated Csound editors that help to bring it down to Earth. Blue is one of the best, with a growing user community and loads of pre-rolled instruments, effects, and other tools. It’s open source and available for Windows, OS X and Linux. Give it a shot if you think music production is becoming too easy… blue.kunstmusik.com
